Chapter
Seven - The Club with No Name
Episode Twenty One
"I've been looking everywhere for you guys!"
Ean squeezes into the tiny room. The oil lamp, now aflame,
emanates a soft, warm glow.
"It's
our new clubhouse! The club officially has a home. We're fixing
it up." Kitty stacks books in a corner.
"It's a dusty hole!" Ean scrunches up his nose.
"And it's not ours."
"Well, nobody else wants this room. They sealed
it up and forgot all about it. Why shouldn't we use it for
a clubhouse? Anyway, we're practically the only kids who ever
come to the library."
Kitty brushes off an old book, larger than the others,
its cover smooth, except for an embossed symbol. No title.
Strange. And was that some kind of zing she felt when she
brushed it?
Kitty runs her fingers over the book again. Yes, there
it was. A definite zing.
