Our Mission
Our mission is to create a non-violent superhero who uses his
mind to solve problems. Libroman offers kids the power of knowledge
through exciting uses of books and the internet to fight the intruders
from Libroman's fantastic planet of good and evil. Libroman teaches
kids not only to enjoy and seek learning, but that information helps
solve their day-to-day problems.
About the Creators
The Libroman superhero and his chronicles are the result of
many hours of hard work and good fun by a highly motivated team.
The Pantely family (mom, dad, and the "Think Tank" kids)
together came up with the concept, then searched the universe for
the perfect writer, artist, and web designer to turn the concept
into a reality. Meet the team:

Yvonne (or Bonnie) Pantely
(My mom liked both names.)
Librojob: Creator, cheerleader, and follower of a dream.
Favorite munchies: Popcorn and chocolate-covered most anything
except insects. (No, wait . . . let me think about that....)
Goal: To raise Libroman to life, and through his adventures
help make the world a better place for kids to learn and grow.
Favorite place in the world: A sandy beach on a beautiful sunny
day. I always look forward to summer days at the edge of the land,
going against the grains.
Hobbies: Playing the piano, oboe, recorder, harpsichord, bagpipes,
English horn, guitar, flute, and keyboard, especially with a group
of musicians. I also love a great workout and the feeling I get
afterwards.
Favorite book: Morning and Evening by Charles Spurgeon. He has
a way with words and gives our writer, Jan, a run for her money.
(Good thing he wrote more than a century ago.)
If I ran the universe: I'd turn the reigns over to Libroman
and take the day off.
Amazing experiences: Being married to the man of my dreams;
having three wonderful children; and being a part of this Libroman
team.
My other life: Will be in heaven!
Currently working on Libroman and spreading the word that reading
leads to great writing and great writing takes you anywhere you
want to go!
Jan Stankus
Librojob: Wordsmith and Editor. I write the episodes and edit
the other stuff, like these bios.
Favorite munchies: Chocolate, chocolate, and did I mention chocolate?
Oddly, I'm also rather fond of potatoes.
Goals: To get staked on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Well, that's
a short-term goal. Ultimately, I'd like to see more of this incredible
planet (I'm talking about Earth) and have more great adventures!
Favorite places in the world: Menorca, Spain, among the rocky
taulas; Kos, Greece, with all the feral cats prowling around and
heavy, perfumey blossoms falling from trees and bonking you on the
head.
Hobbies: Dancing; fixing up my fixer-upper of a house, more
than a century old, and trying to make things grow in the garden.
Favorite books: She's Come Undone, a great story about a teenage
girl growing up; anything Lois Duncan writes - spooky stories about
teenagers who seem, gasp, sort of normal (except that they're spooky).
Lots more - don't get me started.
If I ran the universe: Everybody would stop what they were doing
once a day and dance!
Amazing experiences: Taking a riverboat trip down the Amazon
River through the jungles of Brazil; looking for lost luggage in
Egypt; unearthing a 4000-year-old artifact in Spain.
Why I joined the Libroman team: It was too cool to pass up AND
it's fun. How often does anyone get a chance to create a whole new
planet?
My other life: I work full-time writing scripts for TV shows
and films. I'm called a "Describer." My scripts describe
key visual elements for people who are blind or visually impaired.
Rebecca Gallant
Librojob: Web Goddess.
Favorite munchies: Oh God, just one? Okay, anything with grease,
cheese, or chocolate - but not all together.
Pets: Two kitties, which I should have named Yin and Yang because
they are polar opposites. Tasha is sweetness and light and cuteness
personified. Fearless Freep is huge, fluffy, and very, very aggressive,
almost dog-like. The only thing he fears is the "dragon"
that lives in the closet, a.k.a. the vacuum.
Goals: To live forever. So far, so good.
Favorite place in the world: Scotland. It's rainy, it's gloomy,
and everyone is always angry. My version of heaven.
Hobbies: Fencing, karate, painting and drawing wildlife, and
fantasy role-playing. Yes, I am a huge nerd.
Favorite books: Quantum Musings by the swell guys at Quantum
Muse, The Vlad Taltos series by Steven Brust, and Lord of the Rings
by Tolkien.
If I ran the universe: What do you mean "if?" Okay,
when I rule the universe, there will be global equality, no animal
suffering (however, some people do need to suffer), and the systematic
eradication of country music will take place.
Amazing experiences: Playing with a baby tiger. 'Nuff said.
Why I joined the Libroman team: It's an awesome story, the kind
I would have loved as a kid. It's a swell group of people, too.
My other life: I'm a web designer by trade and I love it. I'm
also a professional fine artist who paints wildlife and fantasy
paintings. I'm married to the best man in the whole world who goes
out and saves lives as an EMT, and my furry little kids keep me
busy enough for now. : )
Patricia Pierce-Phillips
Librojob: Artist, doodelist.
Favorite munchies: Jalepeño peppers and chocolate, but
not together, although once my husband did get me some jalepeño-flavored
chocolate - yuck!
Pets: Figaro, my kitty with an attitude. He thinks he's a tiger
and loves to pick on dogs. He allows us to share his house along
with a huge, black cat named Jetson and a teeny-tiny Himalayan runt
(she;s 14 years old) named Cody.
Goal: To someday have enough money to support a mobile van that
would go across the USA spaying and neutering, for free, all the
homeless cats and to help find homes for them all.
Favorite place in the world: England! I just love all the historical
ruins that were once an abbey, castle, or cathedral. Also the "fairy
wells" that are found in the forests.
Hobby: Swimming in the mountain rivers and hidden pools under
waterfalls in Eldorado Canyon, while taking lots of photos, too.
Favorite books: Any book by Mercedes Lackey, especially the
Oathbound trilogy.
If I ran the universe: I would have a "follow your bliss"
day once a week. Everyone could paint (using only your fingers,
no paint brushes allowed) in bright, eclectic, fun, juicy, wild
colors. Paint your shoes, a chair, door knob, car bumper, trash
can, rock garden, spaceship, football, gargoyle, or anything at
all. And if you didn't feel like painting, I would order you to
have fun with an animal - kiss a giraffe, sing to a billy goat,
dance with a hedgehog, or paint an elephant's toenails.
Amazing experience: On March 3rd a few years ago, I was playing
blackjack at a casino. I moved to the 3rd table and bet $3.00. Each
time the dealer gave me a card, it was a 3! This happened six times.
I ended up winning $3.00 and took home 3 photos of my cards, compliments
of the casino's surveillance camera. To this day, I haven't figured
out what all these 3's meant, other than now 3 is my luckiest number.
Why I joined the Libroman team: I saw it as a fun, exciting
new experience and a chance to work with a very unique, talented,
wonderful team. Plus I thought it would be a blast! :)
My other life: Finding time to paint my dreams and create new
fantasy artworks.
Chuck Pantely
Librojob: Gap Filler (I fill in the gaps).
Favorite munchies: Broiled lean meat, salad, and wheat bread
(but if nobody were reading this, it might be nachos, pizza, and
potato chips).
Pet: An outdoor neighbor cat who spends most his time at our
home (and getting muddy paw prints all over my black car - you gotta
love him), and three fluffy kids.
Goal: To help people to reach their fullest potential.
Favorite place in the world: Anywhere quiet and peaceful.
Hobbies: Learning and speaking. I also adore classical music,
opera, and, yes, ballet.
Favorite book: The Bible (after all, it's the all-time best
seller).
If I ran the universe: We'd all be in trouble.
Amazing experiences: Witnessing the technology age. When I was
little, there were no home computers, CD players, VCRs, microwaves,
cell phones, and the like. My young kids have experienced all these!
My other life: I work as a Realtor in Central Florida and serve
the community in various ways.
THE THINK TANK
Phil Pantely
Age: 16
Librojob: Idea Generator.
Favorite munchies: Space Food freeze-dried French fries.
Goal: To achieve a balanced life-style where there is appropriate
time for work, family, service, faith, and fun.
Favorite place in the world: My head, because that's where it
all starts.
Hobbies: Playing drums (making noise), skateboarding (making
jumps), writing (making a statement), and Playstation (having fun).
Favorite book: The Oath by Frank Peretti and The Testament by
John Grisham.
If I ran the universe: It would be fun to create a pill for
learning, and I'd turn all public high schools into fun hangout
places for teens.
Amazing experiences: Going to Russia to help lead a sports camp.
It was great going to the other side of the world and experiencing
such a different environment from here. It really makes me appreciate
all we have.
Why I joined the Libroman team: My family has played around
with the idea since we were little, and it's great seeing it come
to life.
My other life: A normal tenth grader who enjoys friends, music
(P.O.D.'s my favorite, though I like all kinds of good music), good
food (never met a pizza I didn't like), and helping others (without
that, something's always missing).
Gabe Pantely
Age: 14
Librojob: Assistant Thinker.
Favorite munchies: Anything with dough, sauce, cheese, and pepperoni,
baked in an oven.
Goal: I'd love to play basketball in the NBA, but I'll settle
for playing the best that I can.
Favorite place in the world: I haven't been to too many places
yet, but I enjoyed visiting Trinidad, and I love going to the skate
park.
Hobbies: Skateboarding (did I mention I love the skate park?),
pottery making (my latest stuff blew up in a kiln fire, unfortunately),
playing the guitar and bass (our band plays a P.O.D. sound style),
and Playstation.
Favorite books: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn , Harry Potter
and the Sorcerer's Stone, and the Emil series.
If I ran the universe: I'd make basketball the universal sport
and add it to the Winter Olympics, along with skateboarding (I've
done both in the snow and they're not bad).
Amazing experiences: Going to Universal Studios for the first
time. I was eight at the time and had never seen anything like it.
Why I joined the Libroman team: Because our family came up with
the original idea and I like it. I actually drew the first Libroman
(I was nine. I'm no Rembrandt, but it was cool).
My other life: I'm a junior higher.
Noel G. Pantely
Age: 12
Librojob: To think of adventures for the kids to have in the
stories.
Favorite Munchies: I love olives (especially in a big Greek
salad), ice cream, fruit cake (when they're not too old and hard),
and, most of all, M&M's.
Goals: To become president of my own interior design firm. I
enjoy drawing and working with colors. When we moved, I got to fix
my room any way I wanted.
Favorite place in the world: Being with a friend and playing
games outside.
Hobbies: Drawing, Celtic dancing, playing the flute, any kind
of crafts, and making the biggest ice cream sundaes for my family.
Favorite Books: Charlotte's Web by E. B. White, The Laura I.
Wilder books, and Ace, the Very Important Pig.
If I ran the universe: Everyone would wear a name tag so that
everybody can say a friendly hello. Also, it would always be winter,
so I could make snowmen and go sledding anytime I wanted.
Amazing experiences: Travelling to Trinidad with my family and
also going down the giant slide at Water Country in New Hampshire.
Why I joined the Libroman team: So that I could help create
the characters and come up with ideas that would bring them to life.
My other life: Going to school and church, practicing flute,
playing and dancing, and getting teased by my brothers.
